Our Proficiency

Our team has a proven track record with annual report design in DC and LA. We have produced a dozen annual reports over an eight-year span. We have become highly efficient with our process, and the synergy we’ve developed over time has yielded great work that our clients greatly appreciate. Brian Dean and Don Summers are the creative directors. Peggy Dean is a talented writer and editor. And Carolyn Cukierman is our expert project manager. Together we have developed reports with beautiful, clean design and clear, concise copy. Some our annual report design in DC has been for a Federal agency, the AFRH. Most reports have been 142 to 164 pages. Meeting our deadlines and achieving success with such a large book requires great attention to detail, creative vision, and the ability to perform under pressure. It also requires a keen understanding of business processes, financial analysis, and performance improvement. We’ve also created several annual reports for the Washington Home and Community Hospices. These reports ranged from 28 to 32 pages. In 2013 the Home celebrated its 150th Anniversary—so we captured the organization’s legacy of support and compassion with the creative theme: Heritage with Heart.

Our Process

Our approach to DC annual report design and writing is fluid. Many tasks must happen simultaneously. First, our project manager Carolyn gathers info from the client and establishes the strategic goals and rough content. Brian and Peggy develop memorable theme options to capture your achievements while promoting your strengths. And, Don designs the covers and a few spreads to establish a look and tone. Next, Brian and Peggy interview staff and stakeholders to write feature stories while Don photographs them. Stories give the book a human face and a welcome break from data. Don designs various charts and graphs to complement the report’s look. Next Brian and Peggy edit, streamline, and polish Carolyn’s info and write strong persuasive copy that instills confidence. Once we receive all feedback, Peggy edits again, ensuring proper grammar, style, and accuracy. Approvals require intensive, back-and-forth collaboration with the client, and we revise swiftly. Ultimately, we deliver an annual report that pleases the CEO, CFO, Board, investors, and audience. Dean Creative can also supervise printing as we have solid relationships with printers and brokers. We’ll do the legwork, and you’ll get the best price.
